Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The game is primarily played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective is to score by advancing the ball into the opposing team’s goal, typically by kicking or heading it. Each match is divided into two halves, and the team that scores the most goals wins.

While the term “football” can refer to different variations of the game in various regions (for example, association football, known as soccer in some countries, or American football), it generally denotes a sport characterized by its emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness. Players use various techniques to control the ball, including dribbling, passing, and shooting.

Football has a rich history and is governed by specific rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). It is one of the most popular sports globally, with millions of players and fans, and features prominent international competitions such as the FIFA World Cup.
